Dr Bornali Datta is a senior pulmonologist and public health professional with 27 years’ experience from private, public, and academic sectors, including clinical work in pulmonology, public health work, clinical and operational research. Trained in Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, India (MBBS, MD Medicine) and UK (MRCP, CCST Respiratory). Worked in NHS, UK from 2000-2010 and completed CCST in Respiratory Medicine. Joined Medanta the Medicity, Delhi NCR, India in 2010; currently Director Respiratory Department, Medanta. Completed MSc PH in 2022 – Distance Learning from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University of London. Designed and running an innovative state level TB program “Mission TB Free Haryana” since 2015, an active case finding program to augment the diagnostic capacity of the state for TB. Physician & project lead in the public private partnership. Have collaborated with government officials, key opinion leaders, and state & district staff in designing and implementation of this state level TB program. In 2019, a research association with University College of London, has led on to a robust partnership. Dr Datta is passionate about health inequity and founded an NGO SHARE (Securing Health And Rural Empowerment) in 2013 to help address health inequity, which is widely prevalent in India. She is President of the organization and through her commitment and network SHARE is making headway into improving healthcare for vulnerable population.

Committing to clinical care as well as TB-Free Haryana Dr. Pinky Goyal is a leading respiratory and interventional pulmonology specialist with over 15 years of experience at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram. Alongside her clinical practice, she has made tuberculosis prevention, treatment and elimination an important part of her professional mission. She served as the Head of the Multi-Drug Resistant (MDR) TB Clinic at Medanta Hospital, where she manages some of the most complex forms of tuberculosis. Her work combines advanced clinical expertise with a strong commitment to improving TB care and outcomes. Dr. Goyal is the co-founder of an NGO ‘SHARE’ and serves as Co-Lead of Mission TB Free Haryana, a collaborative initiative with The Union (International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease) and the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The Role of SHARE SHARE seeks to support a stronger grassroots response to TB from donors, CSR partners, institutions and individuals can help strengthen: • Early detection and screening in underserved communities • TB awareness and prevention at the grassroots level • Diagnostic and treatment support for vulnerable patients • Treatment adherence and follow-up, helping patients complete therapy • Community outreach and education to reduce stigma and encourage timely care • Capacity building and partnerships to strengthen local healthcare networks Every contribution can help find TB earlier, support treatment, reduce transmission and save lives.
